Another helpful Windows 7 feature for the busy individual who needs a way to keep track of everything is Sticky Notes. Already as necessary as pencils and paper clips, Sticky Notes just got more useful.

Now in Windows 7, you can put notes up on your desktop, change its color with a click, and speedily resize, collapse, and flip through notes. That means no more shuffling through piles of papers on your desk to find the note you left for yourself.

To find Sticky Notes on your computer just click on the windows icon in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.

Then type in stick notes into the search bar and click on the Sticky Notes under Programs.

After that you will see a Sticky Note appear on your screen.

You can then click on the note and type anything important you need to remember.

To resize the Sticky Note click and drag the bottom right corner of note.

Add another note by clicking + in top left corner of note.

Delete your note by clicking the X in the top right corner.

You can change the color of the note by right clicking on it and selecting one of the six different colors.

You can format text, add bullets to make a list, or change the text size by using keyboard shortcuts.

Here’s how:

Do you like to do things in half the time? I think so, that is why the snipping tool is so great. No longer do you have to hit the print screen [PrtScrn] button, paste into paint, draw a box around the part you want, crop and then finally save. Now with Windows 7 you just open your snipping tool, select whatever part of the screen you want and let go. It’s that simple. I will show you how to use the snipping tool feature step by step.

First you click start or the round windows logo in the bottom left corner of your screen then type in snipping tool into the search bar where it says “search programs and files”.

After you type in snipping tool into the search bar either hit enter or click on the snipping tool that will be listed under programs

Now the snipping tool should be open and you can select from the different snipping choices:

Free-form Snip allows you to draw around any part of the screen

Rectangular Snip allows you to click and drag a rectangle around any part of the screen

Window Snip allows you to take a snap shot of any window you have open

Full-Screen Snip allows to take a snap shot of your entire computer screen

Try them all, go SNIPPING CRAZY!

To use the Free-form and Rectangular Snip follow these directions:

First click and hold until your done selecting the part of the screen you want screen shot of then release. Your snipping tool will then pop up with the selected area. You can then either draw on or around it will the pen or marker, email it, or just save it as a HTML, PNG, GIF, or JPEG.

Premier Technologies has recently added a new staff member to the team who will manage our Web Development and Internet Marketing solutions. His name is Ryan Draeving, he is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and has a degree in Marketing with an Emphasis in Internet and Direct Marketing. We feel that he is a seamless addition to Premier Technologies and will help us provide another essential service to customers.

Did you know that today, the World Wide Web contains over 100 million web sites and over 20 billion pages, so while it is great to have a website there is no guarantee that someone will see your website or that it will attract you new customers. So how can your company and its website get noticed on the internet? Well Premier Technologies has developed NEW solutions to this growing issue and has three different internet marketing plans based on your company needs that can help your business rise through the clutter of the World Wide Web.

When managed efficiently and continuously, internet marketing can expose your company to boundless reach, globally and locally, 365 days a year while still capturing your key target market.Marketing your company on the internet can provide a larger targeted segment at the fraction of the price it would cost to reach the same size audience in television or print. The best part is you can easily measure the effectiveness and success to see your return on investment.

With the majority of people now using their Smart phones and computers to find and research companies it is inefficient to spend large amounts of your advertising or marketing budget on television and print ads. Why not focus on marketing your company where people are looking for your company? Yellow page ads can be costly and not many people use phone books anymore. Our Managed Internet Marketing solution will get your company and website noticed on the World Wide Web.

We have three internet marketing plans so you can be sure one will be right for your company. We have a basic, standard, and Premier plan. These plans include everything from registering your domain name, designing your website, and all of the internet marketing that will help your company drive business.

Please give us a call today and choose an Internet marketing plan works for you.

This month’s tip is how to use Microsoft Windows 7 new features “Shake” and “Snap”

Shake

How many times have you been multi-tasking and find yourself with more than two windows open at a time? Then to focus on one window you have to go to all the other windows to minimize them one by one.

Now with Windows 7 you can just click and hold down the top of the window you want to keep up and give your mouse a shake. Magically every open window except that one instantly disappears. Shake it again and your windows reappear.

Snap

You may or may not have seen the commercials from Microsoft about the Snap feature before, but if did not we will show this handy new feature of Windows 7. Snap allows you to arrange and resize windows on the desktop with a simple mouse movement. You can quickly align windows at the side of the desktop, expand them vertically to the entire height of the screen, or maximize them to completely fill the desktop. Snap can be especially helpful when comparing two documents, copying or moving files between two windows, maximizing the window you’re currently working on, or expanding long documents so they’re easier to read and require less scrolling.

If you have a smaller window open Click and Hold the top of the window and pull it towards the top of your computer screen until you see an thin white outline around the outside of your computer screen then let go of the window. Using the Snap feature windows has made your window fit the entire screen size.

If you Click and Hold the top of the window again and pull it all the way to the left or right side of your computer screen until you see a white outline again and then let go of the window it will Snap the window into half of the left or right side of your screen. This also works with two windows so that you can view them side by side and is great for when you are copying and pasting things or working on two things at a time.
